As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) for over twenty-five years, I assisted survivors of trauma in the process of emotional healing.
My role in their healing was to listen intently to their story; to truly understand how their story shaped the way they view themselves and the world around them. Together, we collaborated to edit their narrative of the past and emphasized the possibilities of the present, enabling them to move onto the next chapter of their lives.
After identifying the key ingredients in my clients successful outcomes, I created a blend of practical approaches with three simple options. As long as you are ready and willing to do the work, short-term therapy delivers long-term results.
While I incorporate a variety of methods into the style of my practice, I also draw from my other credentials and experience as a Certified Wellness Coach and Executive Coach.
As humans, we all struggle and we all have the ability to overcome - yet we cannot do it alone. Whether you choose a single session, a few or many, we make every session count. Welcome to The Simple Session, I'm here to Listen.
"When you change the way you look at a circumstance, the circumstance changes."

In this fast paced world of immediate gratification, we tend to lose focus on how to nurture our own needs immediately. I offer a single-session option, providing a therapeutic framework to achieve a specific plan of action, in a 90-minute session.
Whether you need to manage a crisis, make decisions, resolve conflicts (work, family, relationship) alleviate anxiety, or wish to determine if a situation or reaction to it is normal, we get straight to the point and identify solutions. You will know what is in your control and what is not, giving you instant insight, guidance and clarity. One session may be all you need to feel relief at this time, and at any point in time, you can refer back to me.
Anyone can benefit from planned short-term psychotherapy and knowing your time is limited, you will make the most of each session. I maximize our brief therapeutic encounter by ensuring my clinical work will supply you with tools to become your own therapist.
You might be seeking to resolve relationship issues (premarital, marital), adapt to life transitions (divorce, retirement), overcome loss, reduce stress or balance life. In this short and simple approach, whatever your specific goals are, we stay focused on the resolution and establish effective ways to maintain them.
When people come into therapy, they are most likely struggling with an issue or symptom long before they seek help. So when you finally reach out, it indicates you are ready for change. One of the most effective methods to facilitate change is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a simple way of understanding the connections between how we think, feel and behave and a proven modality of treatment for depression, anxiety and more.
With more sessions, there is more time - to delve into a deeper understanding of the origin of your behavioral patterns. By uncovering negative beliefs from your past, you can replace them with more adaptive ways of viewing life events. I've always believed you are what you think, so if you think negatively, you will feel it too. In this structured approach, I will teach you how to consciously think positively and rationally, resulting in being responsive rather than reactive. You may have homework assignments to encourage and reinforce what we review in session. This practical approach to problem-solving provides you with a new set of coping skills to apply in any circumstance, giving you more control over your life.
A modern alternative to traditional therapy is referred to as teletherapy, which takes the therapy out of the therapist's office. I offer my simple sessions by phone or video call (FaceTime, Zoom and Doxy.me).
My clients have found virtual-counseling to be convenient, successful and affordable, delivering results on their timeline in less time.
Your confidentiality is my priority and you can be confident I respect your privacy.
My practice does not currently accept any insurance and payment is due prior to each session. Please email me to ask questions, discuss fees or set up an initial consultation.
I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to determine if you feel comfortable working with me and identify the best option to meet your needs.
